What is it about the combination of sun, sky, water and a boat that builds up a summer appetite?

For over 60 years, hungry paddlers, sailors and powerboat captains have pulled up to the pier at Christy's Landing to ease their hunger and thirst.

Eric Christenson is the third generation of his family to run the restaurant and bar, which is located just 10 minutes from Madison, at 2952 Waubesa Ave. on the western shore of Lake Waubesa. But it feels like it could easily be a North Woods watering hole with a fine menu.

The waitresses are friendly, the fishermen at the bar talk about how they're biting out on the lake and the decor includes walls adorned with mounted fish, trophy bucks and a black bear. The food includes fish, burgers and some of the best lobster bisque (a genuine bargain at $3.50) ever placed in a bowl.

The walleye sandwich is $7.50, and is so large it could be lunch or dinner. Let's eat!
